"Strange Heros"
Not as strange as you might think

Are they Strange because they're Heroic?
Or are they Heroes because they're Strange?
Or perhaps they're not Heroes at all
(we know they're Strange-- no debate there).
Perhaps they're anti-Heroes.
Given a world in which movie stars are mistaken for real Heroes, and real Heroes are branded cowards,
perhaps our Band of Merry Musicians would be better off to call themselves the Commonplace Anti-Heroes.

"Strange Heroes have earned the reputation of 'house band' at Arsaga's East. The group has quickly developed a healthy following around NWA. Many of the band members have played in other groups over the years, namely the Michael Lee Band. According to Guy Ames, who handles banjo and vocals, the mix is now just about as good as it gets. Ames is joined by Kirk Lanier on bass and vocals; Bruce Allen of the blues band Blue Healin' on electric guitar and vocals; Jamie Ulick on congas and Kristar Miller on drums.

"Yep, it's a big sound for the coffeehouse, especially when those three-part harmonies begin to rival the 'O Brother Where Art Thou' soundtrack. The group does original tunes written by Michael Sloate, Allen and Ames, which produces an interesting meld of folk, jazz, rock and blues.

"The band is in the process of recording their first CD and quickly making a name for themselves on the local scene. Expect big things."

If Strange Heroes is playing, you better bring your dancing shoes 'cuz things almost always get hoppin' and a boppin'.
